Electronic Systems and Construction Industries Hold Concurrent Events
At Las Vegas Convention Center

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA, February 23, 2006—The National Systems Contractors Association (NSCA) and Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) will hold concurrent events at the Las Vegas Convention Center in March. NSCA will present its Systems Integration Expo® March 14-18 and ABC will host its 2006 National Convention March 15-19. The two associations are offering their attendees an “exchange date” on March 17, when participants will be welcomed to both the NSCA and ABC trade shows, as well as ABC’s action-packed National Craft Championships competition.

“The cross-promotion of the NSCA and ABC events will provide an excellent opportunity for general contractors and systems integrators to learn more about the project challenges each confronts,” said Chuck Wilson, NSCA executive director. “We invite the attendees to take advantage of this occasion to learn about these increasingly interrelated industries.”

“The ABC National Convention encourages networking and information sharing. The concurrent events will provide ABC members a strategic opportunity to learn more about electronic systems integration,” said Kirk Pickerel, ABC president and CEO. “The exchange date will give added program value to all who participate.”

On March 17, those with NSCA Expo badges will be allowed entrance to the ABC Construction Showcase exhibit floor and the ABC National Craft Championships competition. Likewise, ABC convention attendees will be permitted to tour the NSCA Expo. The two associations will provide details on seminars and events of mutual interest to attendees on-site at registration.

The NCSA Systems Integration Expo® offers a full range of seminars for designers and installers of commercial electronic systems. It also features 600 exhibits showing the latest technology in audio/visual, access control, acoustics, control systems, data, digital signage, security/life safety, lighting, telephony, sound and video.

The ABC National Convention provides networking opportunities, educational seminars and awards programs. The convention also hosts the annual National Craft Championships competition, which shares the exhibit floor of the ABC Construction Showcase. The championships is entering its 20th year and features young men and women who compete in one of 13 craft categories, including carpentry, metal building, electrical, millwright, fire sprinkler pipefitting, welding and masonry. The competition has become one of the highlights of the annual convention and is part of ABC’s continuing commitment to foster career growth and craft training for emerging construction professionals.
