Polycom decided to expand its Arena ecosystem program to include voice, video, and application developer partners in an effort to allow business around the globe to streamline their communications. Through the Arena program, company officials said channel partners can deliver a set of collaboration solutions that have been tested and certified by Polycom.

Within the expanded program, Polycom offers three levels of partnership: gold, silver, and platinum, as well as an associate level. Status is based on commitment and participation within the Arena program. Member companies receive sales, marketing, and technical benefits based on their program status.

“Polycom is taking a leadership role by expanding its Arena partner ecosystem to include fully interoperable solutions that span its voice, video, and applications offerings,” said Ira Weinstein, senior analyst and partner, Wainhouse Research. “The Arena partner solutions include point-products and entire product lines that not only complement Polycom’s offerings, but have been guaranteed by Polycom to work seamlessly within Polycom-powered environments.”

Among the new partners Polycom welcomed since the expansion are GN Netcom, Mitel, and Qumu. GN Netcom offers the Electronic Hookswitch (EHS) solution, which integrates with Polycom SoundPoint IP phones. Mitel’s SIP-based 3300 PBX integrates with Polycom H.323 and SIP videoconferencing systems to provide integration between Mitel desk-set IP phones and Polycom group video conferencing systems. The Qumu capture studio solution provides employees the ability to create and capture high-quality video presentations and integrates with Polycom videoconferencing and streaming solutions.
