Polycom, a provider of unified collaborative communications, will demonstrate Polycom VC2, its new and enhanced visual communications capabilities at InfoComm 08, booth N6019.
Company officials characterize Polycom VC2 as a comprehensive vision for next-generation visual communication that migrates customers from traditional, stand-alone video conferencing products to highly integrated, HD-quality, and simple-to-use visual communication solutions and applications, according to the company. The system can be managed as part of an organization’s unified communications network and addresses a company’s need for a visual communication solution that provides high-quality video, audio, and content experiences; is easy and intuitive to use; is highly scalable; and can be deployed and managed within a company’s own IP network.
“The global business environment will dramatically evolve over the next five to 10 years. Polycom believes visual communication will be one of the most important and impactful tools for business success during this time,” said Joe Sigrist, senior vice president and general manager of visual communications solutions at Polycom, in a statement. “Visual communication capabilities like telepresence, real-time multimedia content sharing, on-demand video content, mobile video, and video-enabled unified communications have the potential to change what is possible in business and radically alter how, where, and when we work, and the way we communicate and collaborate with co-workers, partners, and customers.”
The Polycom VC2 developments at InfoComm include expanded telepresence solutions and demonstrations, new 1080p video-enabled applications, highly scalable presence-enabled desktop visual communications, enhanced infrastructure for migrating customers to next-generation networks and applications, and breakthrough video QoS technology for IP networks.
