QSC announced that as of October 1, all its PL380 amplifiers are now available with detachable power cords featuring 32-amp PowerCon connectors from Neutrik.

Previously produced with a permanently attached power cord, QSC’s flagship 120V and 100V models within the company’s PowerLight 3 series now offer users a robust, reliable AC cable connector with a current capacity of 32 amps, designed specifically to meet the needs of high-power distribution systems. The 230V PL380 will simultaneously be upgraded from the 20A PowerCon to the new 32A connector.

The latest PowerCon connectors are three-pole systems with contacts for phase, neutral, and ground, and can be used with voltages up to 250V. According to the company, the PowerCon’s connector facilitates fast and easy locking, which protects against unintentional disconnects.

The 32-amp PowerCon connectors are VDE, UL cUL, and JET approved, and will maintain all existing PL380 safety approvals. PL380 plug types remain unchanged, with the existing NEMA L5-30P plug found on al 120V and 100V PowerLight PL380 amplifiers, and a “Shuko” CEE 7/7 16-am Continental European plug still in place on the 230V PL380. All PowerLight PL325 and PL340 amplifiers will keep their existing 20-amp PowerCon connectors and plug types.
