Shure Incorporated (www.shure.com) announced that Sandy LaMantia, President and CEO, was named a winner of audit and tax firm KPMG’s 21st Annual Illinois High-Tech Awards program, which is the only awards event in Illinois that exclusively honors achievement in the high-tech industry. He received the award during an awards ceremony on Monday, November 22, at Chicago’s Ritz-Carlton Hotel.

“It is a pleasure and an honor to receive this recognition,” said LaMantia. “I would like to thank KPMG International for this award and express my gratitude to the thousands of Shure Associates, both past and present, who have contributed to the growth of Shure Incorporated since Sidney N. Shure founded the Company in Chicago in 1925.”

Founders, owners, or senior level management responsible for successfully taking a high-tech product or service from concept to commercialization were eligible for nomination. Mr. LaMantia was one of 11 finalists and one of four award winners.

“Chicago enjoys a rich legacy of technical innovation, ranging from the invention of the zipper to the design and construction of the first skyscraper and experimentation with high-energy physics,” added LaMantia. “It is that spirit of exploration, intellectual curiosity, and innovation that I seek to foster in my fellow Shure Associates. Without their dedication to the pursuit of audio perfection, I would not be accepting this award.”
