Sony Electronics has come to an agreement with ClearOne Communications, under which Sony will provide enterprise customers the combination of Sony’s videoconferencing endpoints with audio conferencing products from ClearOne.

Effective this September, Sony will offer this conferencing package through its distribution channels, providing an enhanced end-to-end solution. As a result of this collaboration, conferencing users will soon be able to easily mix analog audio calls and video calls into one communication via a single device.

The ClearOne audio conferencing products that will be offered with the Sony endpoints include the RAV 900 audio conferencing system and the AccuMic VC echo-canceling microphone.

“The agreement brings together two companies that are industry leaders for premium products in the conferencing market,” says Zee Hakimoglu, president and chief executive officer of ClearOne. “Offering our audio conferencing products with Sony video endpoints creates a total solution that sets a new standard for unbeatable quality and value.”

“From Sony’s perspective, this initiative will enable us to offer our customers a complete package that provides the outstanding quality of Sony videoconferencing endpoints with an industry leader in audio conferencing,” says Eric Murphy, vice president for integrated visual communications at Sony Electronics in the United States. “This collaboration illustrates our continuing effort to raise the quality bar for the best overall conferencing experience.”
