Sunfire Loudspeaker Receives CES Innovations 2007 Award

The Consumer Electronics Association announced Sunfire as an International CES Innovations 2007 Design and Engineering Awards Honoree for its Cinema Ribbon Loudspeaker at the recent International CES New York Press Preview. Products entered in this prestigious program are judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, engineers and members of the trade press to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting-edge consumer electronics products.

The Sunfire Cinema Ribbon loudspeakers were conceived and designed based on years of research into psychoacoustics conducted by Sunfire founder and industry legend Bob Carver. Sunfire’s signature “Sonic Hologram Imaging” is achieved through a unique configuration of dual side-firing High Back-emf woofers, coupled to a single front-firing ribbon. The result is amazingly high output and detail with controlled dispersion to eliminate unwanted reflections off the ceiling and floor with improved imaging. The Cinema Ribbons deliver floorstanding performance without the floor; it is big sound from small places.

“The Cinema Ribbon line of theater speakers is a perfect example of the unconventional design approach that Sunfire has become famous for,” says Sunfire General Manager Mark Weisenberg. “Part of the launch of our newest line of products, XT-Series, the Cinema Ribbon technology will be expanded into other models planned for introduction in the next several months. It is indeed gratifying to have this product receive such an honor as the Innovations Award.”
