CEDIA is addressing market developments and responding to global member requests by modifying its international structure. CEDIA has members in 45 countries and has recently held or supported trade and/or training events in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Italy, Russia and Brazil. To meet the needs of its worldwide membership, a team of CEDIA board members, staff, chapter presidents and others are working to enhance the international structure of the association.
The team’s goals include:
- Streamlining CEDIA’s international operations
- Increasing accessibility to services for international members
- Broadening the global perspective of the organization
- Creating synergy between of all CEDIA’s programs.
Several fundamental changes toward these goals have already taken place within the association. CEDIA has added three board seats specifically assigned to non-U.S. members. David Beauchamp (Australia), Andy Baker (UK) and Marilyn Sanford (Canada) were elected to fill these seats.
“As the industry has continued to grow and develop in countries around the world, the demands have increased on CEDIA to provide services and support to companies within the custom installation industry,” said Steve Hayes, CEDIA’s president. “It is the responsibility of CEDIA to continue the aggressive development of the industry in tandem with the increase in market awareness, so that all of our members benefit from increasing business.”
Management Conference Dates
The 4th Annual Conference will be held March 20-23, 2002, at the Hyatt Tamaya Resort & Spa in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
