Bulkhead Media Converters
The BMC handles both optical-to-electrical and full physical layer (PHY) conversion in harsh environment applications. The integrated bulkhead design simplifies the incorporation of optical interfaces and eliminates virtually all packaging issues. BMC units are available for either 62.5/125 or 50/125µm multimode fiber and can be equipped with one to four optical channels in various combinations of simplex and duplex configurations.
Desktop CD Duplicator
The new CD Digital Photo Copy Station allows photography professionals and home users to copy digital photos directly from camera memory cards to CD. The station copies photos in multi-session format in order to use the entire 700MB storage capacity of the CD. This enhanced version of the CD Copy Cruiser also serves as a standalone 1:1 CD duplicator, a USB 2.0 external CD recorder for Windows or Macintosh, or an external memory card reader.
A Beta 1 version of Stardraw Control is available to manufacturers and systems specialists, who are invited to provide as much detailed feedback as possible via a dedicated forum set up for this purpose. Stardraw Control can communicate with and control any device using any protocol. The software generates standalone, customized control programs to allow systems integrators to control heterogeneous systems without developing exclusive software applications for individual products.
The Articulating Swing-Out Arm (AM2) fits most LCD monitors weighing up to 40lbs. It offers 15 degrees of tilt and pivot in any direction, and 360-degree screen rotation. The display can be moved up to 180 degrees from side to side. The arm may be extended out from the mounting surface a maximum of 17in. or folded flat — just 3.6in. from the wall.
MMF's T16/940 transducer enables users to pinpoint faults in power cables by detecting the ground vibrations generated by flash-over faults using the sound field and distance method. The sensor measures both vibration and magnetic fields and contains an electronic circuit for amplification and filtering. It comes with a plastic case for field use.
Content Management Software
Users in vertical markets including retail, financial services, network operations, and manufacturing can use Omnivex Display 3.10 to assemble, schedule, deliver, and play back content over digital signage networks. The new version offers enhanced integration with external triggers such as realtime data and touchscreens, and adds the capability of receiving MMS and RTSP streams for live or on-demand video for webcast or netcast feeds.
The new Verbatim 8× DVD+RW media allows noise-free re-recording up to 1,000 times by taking the disc back to its original state each time. Users can write or rewrite a 4.7GB disc in about 7 minutes. The media can be used for recording video, audio, and multimedia files that will need to be updated and edited repeatedly.
The DX-2 allows consumers to produce larger quantities of professionally finished discs at a lower cost per disc. The accompanying software suite also includes Sure Thing label editing software and PrassiTech Zulu 2 recording and automation software. The system lets users create batches of unattended recording jobs of up to 100 discs. The DX-2 is available as a DVD/CD or CD-only publisher.
Media Control Software
NetControl allows audiovisual departments in universities, colleges, and medium-sized corporations to control and maintain AV equipment over LAN/WAN. The system provides control over projector functions such as power control, input selection, volume control, temperature control, and signal detection. NetControl can access Sharp Electronics' XG-MB70X DLP through the projector's integrated LAN port, without the need for any additional control interfaces.
LinQ (pronounced “link”) software connects a networked computer to a SMART Board interactive whiteboard. The SMART interactive slate uses Bluetooth technology that allows students or teachers to control the whiteboard from anywhere in the room. Once the information on their PC is displayed on the interactive whiteboard, students can present their projects, annotate material in digital ink, and control their own computer by touching the large display.
The IPL T PCS4 power control and current sensor features Extron IP Link technology, which provides an integrated Web server, full Ethernet compatibility, and email capability. The sensor comes with four 120VAC (Edison) outlets and pre-loaded control pages for web-based monitoring, scheduling, and control capabilities. Electrical current thresholds can be set to define full power, standby, and power off states for individual devices and for groups of outlets.
