Germany’s first “Basketball meets Hip-Hop Mega-Event,” held in Munich at BMW Park, made use of a one-of-a-kind court created by ASB Glassfloor. The company has made several temporary courts for events, but this event utilized a permanently-installed court made of specially treated safety glass that houses millions of LEDs. During the event, the programmable court cycled through graphics, including branding, player/game data, and explosions to celebrate goals. The court’s FIBA-certified surface features a spring-mounted substructure and textured ceramic dots for grip.
The court is powered by ASB’s proprietary GlassCourt OS, and the company says that future events at the venue will “unlock deeper audience engagement, enabling fans to influence gameplay via apps, live voting, and other interactive tools.”
“This is exactly what ASB GlassFloor was designed for, bringing energy, emotion and data together on the surface of play. Beats N Buckets pushed the boundaries of what a sports and music event can be,” said Christof Babinsky, Managing Director, ASB GlassFloor.
