
Dolby Laboratories has announced a new collaboration with Audi, which introduces Dolby Atmos in select Audi models. Dolby states that the first models utilizing the technology will arrive in July, and will feature a Bang & Olufsen sound system that has been “specially adapted” to integrate Dolby Atmos.
Survey: Car owners think more screens are “not necessary”
This partnership furthers Dolby’s expansion into the auto industry, having already made Atmos available in cars by several other manufacturers such as Cadillac, Mercedes, Lucid, and Lotus. Drivers and passengers will be able to play tracks in Dolby Atmos both through the cars’ multimedia interface, as well as integrated apps such as Amazon Music, Audible, and Tidal.
Beginning in July, Dolby Atmos will be coming to the following models:
- Audi Q7
- Audi Q8
- Audi A8
- Audi e-tron GT.
