The Insta360 Go Ultra can shoot in 4K at double the framerate of its predecessor

Insta360 has announced the next generation of its Go line of compact action cameras. The Go Ultra is is fourth generation of the series, and breaks the trend of having a pill-shaped design, opting for a rounded square that measures 1.8 inches on each side.

The Go Ultra houses a 1/1.28″ sensor, more than twice the size of its predecessor. Insta360 claims that the new integrated 5nm AI chip provide greater imaging than was previously possible in the Go series. The Go Ultra shoots in 4K at 60fps, double the maximum framerate for the Go 3S. Visual noise reduction and brightness optimization provided by PureVideo’s AI algorithms.

The Go Ultra also departs from its predecessor in the storage department, supporting removable microSD cards as opposed to fixed internal storage. The camera can be worn via the included magnetic pendant or easy clip, and the camera is also compatible with Insta360’s range of mounts. The company claims that the Go Ultra can run for 70 minutes on a single charge, bumped up to 200 minutes when combined with the Insta360 Action Pod. A fast charging system gets the Go Ultra back to 80% in 12 minutes.
