Popular multitool manufacturer Leatherman has taken to releasing upgraded, sometimes limited-edition versions of their products over the last few years. The company is continuing this trend with the launch of the Leatherman Wave Alpha, a new iteration of its capable all-rounder Wave multitool.
According to Leatherman, the improvements made to the Wave Alpha are the result of consumer feedback, and nearly all of them involve the tool’s knife blade. The blade is now of MagnaCut manufacture for enhanced durability, and features a reverse tanto design. Most obvious upon first glance is the addition of a thumb stud, previously only available on the company’s premium ARC multitool.
Of course, as a Leatherman multitool, the Wave Alpha features much more than just a MagnaCut knife. It also features a host of helpful tools, including:

The Wave Alpha comes in three new handle colorways. Its G10 textured grip will be available in Obsidian, Cascadia (dark green), and Canyonland (orange) finishes. The Leatherman Wave Alpha launches on October 15.
