LG debuted 8K OLED and LCD TV models in 2019 and continued development in the category for the next several years. The most recent 8K model launch was 2024’s QNED99T LCD TV, which never saw a global release but was made available only in select markets.
LG continued updating its 8K OLED ZX series until 2023, with the last model being discontinued last year. LG’s departure from the 8K market leaves Samsung as the last remaining major manufacturer of 8K TVs, though it has not announced any concrete 8K plans for 2026.
