Marshall is expanding its audio portfolio with the newly-announced Heddon Bluetooth hub. The Heddon utilizes Bluetooth Auracast technology to connect multiple devices, allowing users to create a network for multi-room audio.
The Heddon support Spotify Connect, Tidal, AirPlay and Google Cast for streaming music, which can then be broadcast to a multi-speaker system via Auracast. Currently, the Heddon is compatible with Marshall Acton III, Stanmore III and Wobrun III speakers, while RCA stereo inputs allows a turntable to be connected for streaming vinyl. RCA line outputs allow up to one older Marshall speaker to be plugged in and synced with the wireless speaker network.

“Heddon has a high resolution, 24-bit/192kHz DAC, however the LC3 codec it uses to transmit the audio is not lossless,” Marshall said in a statement to What Hi-Fi. ” The Auracast broadcast does not support either Spotify Lossless or Tidal Max requirements, however it is an improvement on standard Bluetooth.”
The Marshall Heddon Bluetooth hub is available now for $300.
