Meta launches new Ray-Ban smart glasses for prescription lenses

The new Scriber Optics and Blayzer Optics frames are compatible with "nearly all" prescription lenses and are said to be optimized for all-day comfort

Meta is introducing two new frame styles with the Ray-Ban Meta Optics Styles. The Blayzer Optics frame is available in standard and large sizes, which features a more rectangular silhouette. The rounded Scriber Optics frame has a lighter frame, and both new models hold the distinction of being the first Ray-Ban smart glasses from Meta that support “nearly all” prescription lenses.

Both frames come in the same color options: matte black, transparent matte ice gray, and transparent stone beige.

Ray-Ban Meta Blayzer Optics (Gen 2) and Ray-Ban Scriber Optics (Gen 2) glasses feature overextension hinges, interchangeable nose pads, and optician-adjustable temple tips, for a customizable fit. Meta claims these glasses are optimized for all-day comfort, which makes sense, given their prescription lenses.

Meta has both new models of glasses up for pre-sale, and will be launching at optical retailers beginning April 14.
