An LED road sign in Mumbai, Bombay has become the subject of a viral video as instead of the usual sign messages, the words “SMOKE WEED EVERY DAY” slowly scrolled across the screen. Twitter user Akshat Deora posted the video on Tuesday and it quickly became an internet sensation.
Pravin Padwal, joint commissioner for traffic with the Mumbai police told the press that L&T, the company responsible for the sign, blamed a “technical glitch” for the sign’s message. Padwal has said that the sign has been switched off while the company works on the issue.
I, for one, suspect a disgruntled employee or a toked-up hacker with a mischievous streak for the “glitch.”
