NASA and Netflix have jointly announced that, beginning later this summer, NASA+ live programming will be available on Netflix through all membership options. This means that viewers will be able to watch HD live-streams of everything from live views of Earth from the International Space Station, astronaut space walks, and rocket launches as they happen.
“Our Space Act of 1958 calls on us to share our story of space exploration with the broadest possible audience,” explains Rebecca Sirmons, general manager of NASA+. “Together, we’re committed to a Golden Age of Innovation and Exploration — inspiring new generations — right from the comfort of their couch or in the palm of their hand from their phone.”
A launch date has not yet been confirmed for Netflix’s new content, but new details are said to become available in the coming weeks. Netflix says that it will make a detailed schedule available closer to launch day.
