Leatherman has introduced a brand-new multitool under its experimental Garage line that sold out almost immediately after becoming available. The Leatherman Adapter sells for $75, and interested parties can sign up to become notified when it returns to the storefront.
The Adapter is made from 3D-printed titanium, and features a three-way ratcheting system as its most obvious function. It can be used while folded, unfolded at a 90-degree angle for greater leverage, or when completely unfolded to provide greater reach. The ratchet can be locked, or toggled between forward and reverse to allow for quick turning without repositioning.
The handle functions as storage as well, housing multiple ratchet bits, including Phillips 1/2″ and 3/16″, Torx #6 and #8. Also housed are an eyeglass screwdriver, T-shank wood saw and a T-shank file, and a D1 ballpoint pen cartridge that can inserted into the end of the ratchet.
There’s as yet no word on the Leatherman Adapter’s return, but the rate at which its first run sold and the message on Leatherman’s website strongly point to it becoming available again in the near future.
