Only a month after Sony announced it was handing the reigns of its TV and home entertainment business over to TCL, Panasonic has revealed that it will be giving China’s Skyworth control over its TV division. According to Panasonic, Skyworth will be responsible for the production and marketing of Panasonic TVs.
“Under the agreement the new partner will lead sales, marketing and logistics across the region, while Panasonic provide expertise and quality assurance to uphold its renowned audiovisual standards with full joint development on Top End OLED models,” Panasonic announced at its 2026 launch event, FlatpanelsHD reports.
Panasonic has stated that its TVs will continue to be manufactured and sold under the Panasonic brand name, with the company continuing after-sales support “for all Panasonic TVs sold up to March 2026 and all those available from Apri.” Panasonic says that the transition to Skyworth will happen gradually around the globe one region at a time, including Europe and the United States.
