Like several other manufacturers, Philips has revealed that its next-gen line of TVs will come with an all-new panel type. Like Panasonic, Philips has announced that its upcoming OLED+950 and OLED+910 TVs will adopt a four-layer WOLED panel. It’s likely that the new panel type utilizes the same Primary RGB Tandem structure as LG’s recently-unveiled WOLED panels, as Philips claims the new panels deliver p to 3700 nits peak brightness and 350 nits fullscreen brightness, 83% Rec.2020 colors, and up to a 20% power reduction. Interestingly, the defining feature between the two models is whether or not a consumers wants upgraded visuals to pair with an external sound system (OLED+950), or if a more powerful integrated audio system is desired (OLED+910). While both models leverage the company’s new 9th Gen P5 video processor, the 950 features a dual-chip version, which the 910 passes over in favor of an integrated 3.1-channel Bowers & Wilkins speaker system.
“The new and more powerful 9th Gen P5 AI Dual Engine processor now includes new Adaptive Intelligence, an AI Adaptive Gamut Enhancer, a new Specular Highlight Enhancement feature, new AI Machine Learn Sharpness V3 system, a new V4 version of the AI Smart Bit Enhancement algorithm and the V4 version of the AI Perfect Reality feature,” says Philips.
