Pro-Ject debuts special-edition Harley Davidson turntable

Pro-Ject looks to bring the motorcycle brand's "mechanical soul" to living spaces

Pro-Ject has come out with several special-edition turntables over the years, with its newest being a tribute to legendary American motorcycle makers Harley-Davidson. While it might seem out of place when compared to Pro-Ject’s previous tributes to Metallica or The Beatles, the Harley-Davidson is still designed to the Australian hi-fi brand’s standards, with premium components.

The turntable is constructed with heavy aluminum, with a massive 915g Harley-Davidson record puck. It uses a belt drive configuration, as well as an 8.6-inch S-shape aluminum tonearm with SME-headshell. Electronic switching allows users to select between 33 and 45 speeds. A genuine leather mat sits between the record and the turntable’s heavy glass platter.

“The plinth takes the iconic Harley-Davidson shield logo as its form, machined from solid MDF with zero hollow spaces, ensuring maximum resonance damping and a
dead-quiet noise floor that lets your music speak without interference,” says Pro-Ject.

The company hasn’t disclosed how many units will be made, but Pro-Ject’s special-edition turntables are typically in short supply. The Pro-Ject Harley-Davidson turntable has launched with an MSRP of $3,299.
