Riders of Cedar Point’s new ‘Siren’s Curse’ coaster burst into cheers and applause when a technician was able to return the ride to an upright position so it could restart correctly. The opening day passengers had been stuck dangling face-down at a 45-degree angle for ten minutes. The park has not revealed what the cause of the malfunction was, but a spokesperson offered the following statement:

“The coaster’s safety system performed as designed, the ride was restarted, and guests continued their ride. Siren’s Curse reopened shortly after and all guests exited the ride safely.”

Riders of Siren’s Curse experienced another malfunction four days later, when one of the coaster’s trains became stuck on the tracks. The ride could not be restarted, and employees had to escort the riders off of the ride. Thankfully, everyone made it back to the ground safely, and the ride restarted after an hour.
