Sony is once again allowed to sell its consumer and professional-focused projectors in Europe after EU sanctions halted sales earlier this year. War-related sanctions on Russia and Belarus had affected one of Sony’s component suppliers, leading the company to issue the following statement:
“To ensure our compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including recent European export control regulations and trade restrictions, we have made the unavoidable decision to discontinue sales of select projector models in Europe, once the current stock is depleted.”
Thankfully for Sony, the company has been able to resolve the issue, announcing that it is able to resume sales across Europe.
“We’re delighted to be able to resume shipping of our projectors, including our latest BRAVIA Projector 8 and Bravia Projector 9 for home cinema, seamlessly across Europe and we’re excited to introduce the Bravia Projector 7 later this summer,” said Rik Willemse, Head of Professional Displays and Solutions, Sony Europe. “These products have remained available in other regions, and we’re now focused on meeting European customer demand as swiftly as possible. We’re glad to be back and appreciate the continued understanding and support of our partners and customers.”
