This SSD self-destructs at the push of a button

The P250Q can fry its own circuit on demand

Like something straight out of a movie, the TeamGroup P250Q SSD has the ability to destroy itself at the push of a button. Featuring a read speed of  7,000MB/s and a write speed of 5,500MB/s, the P250Q will be available in sizes ranging from 256GB to 2TB, according to TeamGroup. The company also claims the P250Q is rugged enough to survive extreme temperatures. While these specs are notable, what really sets the SSD apart is its ability to self-destruct. A patented “destruction circuit” can overload the memory chip when triggered, melting it. No pricing information has yet been revealed for the P250Q.
