WATCH: 1X reveals the Neo household robot

The Neo Home is designed to handle recurring chores around the house

A year after releasing the Neo Beta, Californian robotics company 1X has announced the upcoming launch of the Neo Home robot. Covered in a layer of soft fabric and standing 5’6″ tall, this unassuming robot is being billed by 1X as a tool to give families more time to focus on life by autonomously taking care of chores around the home. The robot is built on Redwood AI, which 1X calls “a vision-language transformer tailored for the humanoid form factor and capable of performing end-to-end mobile manipulation tasks like retrieving objects for users, opening doors, and navigating around the home.”

The launch video shows the Neo Home climbing stairs on its own, dancing to music, helping its owner identify objects, and completing household chores. The Neo Home can answer simple questions asked by its user via onboard microphones and three integrated speakers. These can also be used to ask the robot to handle a task, while recurring chores can be scheduled via an app.

The Neo Home will begin shipping in 2026, with preorders available now for a $200 deposit. The robot will cost $20,000, which can be paid upfront or through a $499 recurring monthly fee.
