WATCH: America’s largest home is the canvas of a new projection mapping show

The Biltmore Estate makes use of 48 projectors for new show

The Biltmore Estate, America’s largest privately owned home, has been treated to a projection mapping show across its grounds. 48 projectors are in use for the ‘Luminere’ show, with 16 focused on the house itself and 32 on the rest of the sprawling property. The lighting and music show was developed by Klip Collective.

The show takes guests through the Biltmore’s beginnings in the late 1800’s to current day. Ricardo Rivera, the creative director and co-founder of Klip Collective, told People magazine that the show was created to convey a “journey” throughout the space.

“It’s at times playful, it’s at times very emotional, at times very cerebral,” he says. “I really hope that people kind of pick up on all these little things because I like to create work that’s a little more liminal… I want to create spaces that are imaginative and inspire, trigger your own memories, and that trigger your own life experiences.”
