A perfect repairability score from iFixit is extremely rare, but Fairphone continues their hot-streak with the Fairphone 6. Scoring a full 10 out of 10, iFixit credits the phone for having an easily-swappable battery, glue-free construction, mess-free screen replacement, modular ports, and much more. While they concede that the camera and some other components won’t be winning any battles against their flagship counterparts, iFixit says the phone’s thoughtful construction and consideration for self-repair vastly make up for any shortcomings. The repair experts also give Fairphone a nod for providing a plethora of written and video guides for component replacement, making the already simple repairs less intimidating for tech novices.
“Once everything was laid out on the table, reassembly was a breeze,” says iFixit. “The Fairphone 6 snapped back together without fuss and powered on as if nothing had happened. Then we did it four more times. That’s the mark of a truly repairable device.”
