Google Japan has unveiled the latest in its line of novelty concept keyboards, this time with a twist. Following the company’s previous whacky iterations that include the “_____” keyboard and one with a Japanese teacup-inspired design, Google presents the ‘両面バージョン,’ or ‘double sided version’ Gboard. Taking the shape of a Möbius strip, this keyboard, with its 208 keys, can be used by multiple people at once for collaboration. What began as an April Fools’ tradition has been kept alive in celebration of Keyboard Day, which takes place the first of October. While this keyboard isn’t actually available for purchase, the hardware design and firmware for this model (and for each Keyboard Day creation) has been made available on GitHub by Google Japan for any enthusiasts that want to have one at home.
