Google just released the Pixel 9a last week, and PBKreviews has already posted a teardown video to determine if the new model is easy to repair. The Pixel 9a is positioned as the midrange entry of the Pixel 9 series, with Google improving the phone’s durability and battery life over the original Pixel 9. PBKreviews gives the Pixel 9a a repairability score of 7.5 out of 10, with marks taken away primarily for how difficult it is to replace the charging port and sim reader. The new phone did earn high marks for its easy-to-replace display, and overall design philosophy. PBKreviews also praises the Pixel 9a for its addition of a vapor chamber to dissipate heat from its components, effectively lengthening the lifespan of all key components.
