Apple has released its thinnest phone ever in the form of the iPhone Air, which one might assume would be nearly impossible to self-repair. The repair gurus at iFixit examine the new phone from every angle in their latest device teardown, which features shots from a CT scanner and scientific microscope to expose every detail. The result is surprising, with iFixit finding the ultra-thin phone to be repairable thanks to some clever engineering by Apple. The iPhone Air ultimately receives a repairability score of 7, far higher than expected, thanks to an easily swappable battery and some novel design choices.
