Meta branched out from Ray-Ban this year by announcing a partnership with Oakley to produce a new sporty line of smart glasses. The first model born from this partnership, the Oakley Meta HSTN, recently launched at a hefty $500 price point. Integrated with Meta’s AI assistant, the ‘performance AI’ glasses can shoot video at 3K resolution, play media through its open-ear speakers, and feature an IPX4 rating. But, if anything should go wrong, can these glasses be repaired? iFixit put the Oakley Meta HSTN through the test, and the results are not encouraging. While Meta says the HSTN can’t be replaced, iFixit says its possible–just “unreasonably difficult.” Take a look at the repair gurus’ full teardown above.
