Guests at Six Flags New England were forced to descend a steep maintenance stairway when the roller coaster they were riding became stuck. While the cause of the malfunction has not been revealed, Superman the Ride, which reaches 208 feet at its highest point, stalled on its tracks on April 24th, stranding passengers.
Maintenance crew attended to the stuck passengers, directing them down a walkway away from the coaster. Video was captured showing guests descending a walkway parallel to an elevated section of track.
“On Friday, April 24 the ride did not complete its typical cycle,” Six Flag New England’s statement said. “Trained employees safely unloaded all guests from the ride. Our team was in constant contact with the guests, and all riders were invited to return to the park.”
