The rumors are that the new IKEA Symphonisk will be a Sonos speaker that doubles as wall art.

Details on the new IKEA/Sonos Symphonisk are scanty, but here’s what we can glean in the tech press about the lates news on IKEA in AV.

FROM THE VERGE: Ikea is working with Sonos on a hidden speaker built into art you hang on the wall
Chris Welch has one of the more insider pieces, saying The Verge can exclusively share details on what’s coming. The first new product, covered in this filing, is a revamped version of the Symfonisk table lamp. It’s expected to be sold for around the same price ($179) as the original product, which basically stuffed the sound quality of a Sonos Play:1 into the body of a lamp. MORE@TheVerge

FROM POCKET LINT: Sonos confirms new Ikea Symfonisk speaker is coming
Britta O’Boyle at Pocket-lint reached out to Sonos for confirmation and a spokesperson provided a non-answer: “The partnership [Sonos and Ikea] is stronger than ever and we’re excited about the products we’re working on together. We look forward to sharing more when the time is right.” Based on the filing, the FCC label could sit at the top on the back of the device and the device could be a square shape like a cube, but the diagram on the filing may not refer to the product at all and simply be for information purposes given the product images have been hidden. MORE@Pocket-Lint
