Xreal One Series AR Glasses feature Bose speakers and a new spatial processing chip

An in-house developed chip, Bose-tuned speakers, and customization options are some of the features coming to Xreal's new series

AR company Xreal, which was founded by former employees of Google, AMD, and Magic Leap, has announced what it is calling “the biggest leap forward for the consumer AR industry.” A bold claim to be sure, but the company is looking to back up its statement with the Xreal One Series of augmented reality glasses. These new models utilize a new X1 spatial co-processing chip that was developed in-house by Xreal. The company claims the new chip provides a “consistent low-latency 3DoF [three degrees of freedom] spatial screen regardless of source device with a crystal clear picture from edge to edge.” The glasses can connect to any source device including laptops, phones, and tablets, using a USB-C cable. The main difference between the series’ two models, the Xreal One and Xreal One Pro, are field of view and brightness. The base models features a 50-degree field of view and peak brightness of 600 nits, while the Pro model bumps these metrics to a 57-degree field of view and 700 nit peak brightness.

According to Xreal, the One Series features lower average latency than the Apple Vision Pro, while customization options include adjusting the size and distance of the virtual display, color temperature adjustment, and 2D/3D switching. Notably, the glasses have received TÜV Rheinland certifications in the Eye Comfort, High Visibility, Color Accuracy, Low Blue Light, and Flicker Free categories. Visuals are rendered in 1080p across the series, and an ultra-wide option is also available which changes the display’s aspect ratio to 32:9. On the audio front, the Xreal One series features Bose built-in speakers and a four-microphone array.

The Xreal One Series is currently available for pre-order at $499 for the base model and $599 for the Pro, with the company saying base models will ship before the end of the year and Pro models shipping first thing next year.
