Audio Authority Corp., which designs and manufactures AV distribution systems, signal conversion, and switching solutions for the professional installation industry, announced that David Acton has joined the company as product development specialist, a new position created to expand the company’s product lines and marketing endeavors.

Acton, formerly product manager for Elan and Aton, brings to Audio Authority a wealth of knowledge in sales, marketing, and product development of custom installation products. Acton also has several years experience as a residential and commercial integrator and is CTS-certified through InfoComm International.

“David’s knowledge and experience in our industry will enable our company to provide even higher value products and services to our customers,” said Bob Sollee, president of Audio Authority, in a statement, “His unique perspective and skills, particularly in custom integration and installation, elevate our resources to better serve the markets we address.”

Acton said his top priorities are to further build awareness of the Audio Authority brand and product offerings, and to address the changing needs of today’s custom installer by strategically developing AV products that solve common installation headaches.

“Unfortunately, many custom install products available today have been introduced as a result of manufacturers pushing ideas and technology on dealers”, Acton said in a statement. “My experience has shown that dealers today want to have a more active role in the product development process. They have their fingers on the pulse of the industry, so manufacturers need to tap into that knowledge.”

Acton plans to roll out a new online training initiative detailing Audio Authority’s growing line of custom install products and to make sure the company’s products are available from more residential and commercial AV distributors.
