Denon Professional revealed its next generation of solid-state audio products, part of its emphasis on providing consultants and contractors with digital, solid-media products that have no moving parts, says the company.

The DN-F300 and DN-F400 solid-state audio players can read MP3 files and uncompressed WAV files from SD or SDHC cards (the DN-F300 reads USB drives as well. Because they have no spinning media, the players are suited to a variety of applications, such as playing background music, use in fitness and aerobics venues, message on-hold systems, theaters, and broadcasting.

Encased in a 1RU enclosure, the DN-F300 has IR control and a microphone input. The mic input has music ducking, which can help with paging in background music applications. It also features +/-12-percent pitch control, which is also helpful in aerobics and dance applications.

The DN-F400 is a 1RU, half-rack space unit designed for background music, message on hold, repetitive messaging, crisis management, or any other application that requires audio to run continuously. The DN-F400 features balanced/unbalanced outputs and is controllable via RS-232-C and general purpose I/O, which can accommodate theme parks, malls, government facilities, post offices, police stations, public transportation, hospitals, hotels, restaurants, airports, museums, art galleries, or wherever a repeated audio announcement is needed. Additionally, the optional RC-F400 remote controller features a large LCD display and enhances the player’s capability by providing an ergonomically designed, intuitive control unit for instant playback of audio or sound effects via hot buttons.

“These new products were based on direct feedback from contractors and system integrators and provide high-quality, digital audio playback solutions in a 1RU rack format,” said Karl Gustafson, brand manager of Denon Professional Products, in a statement.
