Yamaha’s new IMX644 rack-mount digital mixer was developed for sound information applications, such as conference rooms, banquet halls, lounges, and restaurants. The IMX644 has six Euroblock mono inputs, each with +48 volts of phantom power; four RCA stereo inputs; and an additional optical digital input. Outputs include two pairs of stereo Euroblock connectors and two channels of mono outputs. RCA and optical digital outputs are also available for recording. According to the company, the mixer is intuitive enough for inexperienced operators to use, and it includes several features accessible from a computer running IMX644 Manager Software and connected via USB port.
