This week at Digital Signage Expo in Las Vegas, Gefen takes the wraps of its new HD Digital Signage Creator (DSC). The new model takes value-added features and functions a step further, improving overall performance, according to the company. Gefen says the HD DSC comes with all the software and hardware needed to create digital signage systems and supports high definition video in the HDMI format at 1080p. A VGA port is also provided for analog systems.

According to Gefen, users can create content with more robust features such as the layering of four RSS feeds independent of other video content on a display. The streams will not affect the quality of HD video, officals say. Enhanced video effects are also available.

Users can access and control content through a Web interface. Through a browser, they can update, edit, access, and schedule digital signage content. “This is a huge convenience for those responsible for maintaining systems while on the road,” said Hagai Gefen, president and CEO, Gefen, in a statement.

More than two gigabytes of internal storage means higher quality graphics can be housed on the HD DSC player. Users can also store data externally and access it via the USB or RS-232 connections.

Gefen said pre-loaded templates are included to help beginners with their content creation, while advanced users can upload video, select music, pull RSS feeds off the Internet, and layer content to build a customized theme.

Small, light and compact, the HD DSC uses just 2W of power, making it a green and viable solution for any facility, according to the company.
