Hitachi Software Engineering America has introduced the new StarBoard WT-1 Interactive Wireless Tablet for educational and corporate environments. The tablet comes with an interactive pen plus two customizable buttons and will debut at InfoComm 09.

The WT-1's RF technology gives it a range of up to 30 feet, while its battery life supplies up to 16 hours of continuous use, says the company. The tablet includes 16 shortcut function keys, handwriting recognition, search engine integration, and a built-in LCD indicator screen, which alerts users of available battery life.

Volume control from tablet to computer and the ability to advance PowerPoint slides with a function button give the user increased control. The tablet's pen features two shortcut options, while presenters can choose to connect up to seven WT-1 systems to a single PC.

"The WT-1?is a great solution for any classroom, training room, lecture hall, or media conferencing system." said John Glad, product manager for Hitachi Software Engineering America, in a statement.

The StarBoard WT-1 Wireless Tablet measures 10.9 inches high by 11.1 inches wide by 0.8 inches deep and weighs approximately 1 pound, according to the company. The tablet's writing resolution is 2,000 Lpi.
