NSCA has made a review course for its EST-L2 certification exam available online, in addition to the classroom-based option currently offered. The four-part review is designed to help industry installers and technicians build their professional competence and confidence.

Based on the foundation established in the ESPA Certified-EST training, the EST-L2 demonstrates that certificate holders have specialized knowledge and skills in the commercial electronic systems industry, says the organization. Intended for those with at least one to three years of industry experience, the EST-L2 online review course prepares students for the EST-L2 certification exam, which can be taken at proctored facilities throughout the United States or at a scheduled industry event. By offering the review course online, “Now, students can prepare for the exam at their convenience,” said NSCA senior director of professional development Norah Hammond in a statement.

Led by Larry Garter, NSCA’s master instructor, the course is designed to review topics that participants have already studied and highlight key concept they are expected to know as they progress through their careers. The four modules included in the review: Project Startup, Rough-in Installation, Termination and Component Installation, and System Activation and Project Closeout.

Based on eight hours of coursework, participants have 60 days to complete the online course. Registration is $209 for NSCA members and $299 for non-members. NSCA members can also apply their education credits to receive an additional discount of up to 25 percent off the price of the course. Contact NSCA at education@nsca.org or 800-446-6722 to register.
