The Projection Summit, to be held June 15-16 during InfoComm 09 in Orlando, comprises two days of presentations, panel discussions, networking, and demonstrations, highlighting the direction the industry is headed and how to succeed in the transition. Its goal, according to organizers, is to help attendees identify areas of opportunity before most competitors are there, gaining a strategic advantage.
According to Summit officials, LED projection is starting to move beyond low-lumen novelty projectors and is entering control rooms, home theaters, and other venues; lasers are penetrating at the high end; and in the low-lumen ranges, LED projectors for consumer and business use could drive the market going forward in terms of unit volume.
Conference registration is $1,295 until June 12, 2009, after which onsite registration will increase to $1,395. There is no charge to visit the Projection Summit Exhibition, but exhibition-only registrations will not have access to the two-day technical conference.
This year, in addition to regular exhibit booths, the Summit will feature several Showcase areas for specific technologies: pico projectors, ultraportable projectors, short-throw projectors, green displays, and 3D displays.
Current exhibitors include: LG Electronics, Radiant Imaging, Luminus Devices, Wavien, Sypro Optics, BenQ, OSRAM, ALViS, Microvision, Insight Media, Draper, Da-Lite, and Circle Technology.
