Briden has been instrumental in expanding the company into new markets and in the development of new technologies and standards, including HDTV, 8-VSB, advanced digital modulation, and MPEG-2 and H.264 video delivery, according to the company.

“In his nearly 20 years at Sencore, working in design services and product development, Jeff has shown outstanding commitment to the development of innovative solutions that meet the needs of today’s content providers,” said John Suranyi, Sencore chief executive officer, in a statement. “As vice president, Jeff will help us move forward with our exciting product roadmap and explore opportunities within the global marketplace to ensure that we continue to support our customers with functional, reliable products and top-quality service.”

An industry veteran, Briden played a significant role in the development of Sencore’s MRD 3187 series of professional receiver decoders, which has been adopted by leading broadcasters, satellite providers, and cable operators around the world. Known for his innovative thinking, Briden holds a patent for the method of 8-VSB signal generation used in the world’s first portable HDTV RF stream player. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering with an emphasis on fiber optic communications from Texas A&M University.

Briden is based at Sencore company headquarters in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
