In response to requests for a version of its flat-field speaker that would fit a standard 2-by-2-foot ceiling tile, Extron Electronics came out with the new FF 220T. Extron’s Flat Field technology redirects radiated sound waves from the 3-inch driver to better equalize sound pressure levels across a listening area. The company says that because of the wide, 170-degree dispersion area, only two FF 220T speakers are required in a standard classroom. The FF 220T has a UL 2043 plenum-rated, 3.25-inch-deep enclosure that easily drops into standard suspended ceilings, especially where space above the ceiling is limited. It offers 8-ohm or 70V or 100V operation and power taps for 1W, 2W, 4W, 8W, and 16W. The horn-loaded, full-range driver provides frequency response down to 68 Hz. 714-491-1500. www.extron.com.
