A-T’s Savanyu Named to InfoComm Adjunct Faculty

Audio-Technica’s Steve Savanyu, director of educational services, has been named an adjunct faculty instructor for InfoComm Academy.
Savanyu joined Audio-Technica in 2000, and has been the market manager of installed sound and broadcast & theater; as well as marketing manager for training and seminars. Formerly, he owned and operated Stonewood Studios, an AV production company in Geneva, Ill. He also was involved with Kent State University’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication, teaching courses on audio production.
Building on the experience he gained through these positions, Savanyu brings a thorough understanding of the importance of hands-on education initiatives and consistent communication to his current roles at Audio-Technica and in his new capacity as adjunct faculty instructor with InfoComm Academy, according to officials.
“The InfoComm Academy program is dedicated to teaching the AV body of knowledge for the betterment of the audiovisual industry and its customers,” said Melissa Taggart, InfoComm senior vice president for certification, education, and standards, in a statement. “InfoComm looks for the best minds in AV and business to present relevant coursework that provides practical knowledge to the industry that will keep them up-to-date on technology trends. Our knowledgeable faculty members re critical to the success of this program, and we are grateful for their participation.”
