Visix, which develops digital signage software, has added a power-over-Ethernet model to its MeetingMinder line of interactive room signs. The 15-inch interactive display allows a single Ethernet cable to supply both power and data to the room sign.

“We’re always looking for ways to make our customers’ jobs easier. We launched our room sign line to help our digital signage clients meet a need, and the power-over-Ethernet model is the next evolution in that process,” said Trey Hicks, vice president of sales for Visix, in a statement.

Visix MeetingMinders were designed to provide more than just room and event schedules, according to the company. The room displays allows clients to leverage their digital signage software to publish a variety of media and messages in addition to schedules.

Visix officials said client feedback indicated that installation regulations and retrofitting made placing room-sign power supplies difficult in certain environments. Visix developed the power-over-Ethernet option to address those issues and reduce client costs while still meeting building and safety regulations.

“It’s about the customer experience,” said Sean Matthews, president of Visix, in a statement. “We’ve had great success with our room signs and we’re constantly analyzing how our products can maximize clients’ return on their investment.”

Visix MeetingMinder room signs can be used standalone solution or combined with AxisTV Digital Signage, Desktop Messenger, Screensaver Publisher, and RSS Publisher software. They come in 12- and 15-inch versions and can be surface mounted or recessed in walls.
