WorxAudio Technologies, which makes loudspeaker systems for the pro touring and install markets, introduced its new TrueLine V5M (non-powered) and V5M-P (powered) ultra-compact fill/monitor systems. Company officials said the loudspeaker systems are well suited to both speech and music reproduction and, with their compact form factors, to front-fill, near-fill, under-balcony, and choir-monitor applications.

The V5M and V5M-P incorporate a medium-format 1-inch exit compression driver coupled to a stabilized, proprietary FlatWave Former wave-shaping device that delivers clear high frequencies over a predictable and controlled coverage area, according to the company. Dual 5-inch cone transducers coupled to the Acoustic Intergrading Module minimize cone filtering throughout the entire operating range.

The powered version, the TrueLine V5M-P, utilizes the company’s new PSD-500 power amp module. Dedicating 350W to the V5M-P’s LF section and 150W to the HF section, the new power module features four digital programs and has both a male/female (loop through) XLR isolated I/O, as well as an AC PowerCon I/O for stable, clean, and clear power. The PSD-500 power module resides on the rear of the enclosure.

The new WorxAudio V5M and V5M-P have a 120-degree symmetrical horizontal coverage pattern and a 30-degree vertical dispersion pattern. This arrangement facilitates consistent sound quality both on- and off-axis, resulting in improved speech intelligibility and music reproduction, according to the company.

The V5M’s enclosure is constructed from multiply Baltic Birch and is heavily braced for cabinet rigidity, yet weighs only thirty pounds. The V5M-P, with its integrated power amp module, weighs 32 pounds. Protecting the enclosure is a multilayered, polyurea finish that is available in black or white. A 16-guage, perforated, cloth-backed, powder coated steel grill with a high transmission ratio protects the transducer complement.

Measuring 18 inches wide by 13 inches deep by 6.8 inches high, both the V5M and V5M-P feature one side that is flat with a 90-degree angle to the floor, making suited to front-fill applications. Positioned along the front edge of a stage in this orientation, the loudspeakers face directly out at the audience. Alternately, the other side of the V5M and V5M-P features a 5-degree angle. In this orientation, the loudspeakers can be used as floor monitors.

, commented on the new TrueLine V5M and V5M-P ultra-compact fill / monitor systems, “The new V5M and V5M-P were designed to address the audio community’s desire for ultracompact, high-performance loudspeaker systems with the versatility to function as a front-fill, under balcony-fill, or as a monitor wedge,” said Hugh Sarvis, WorxAudio Technologies’ CEO and director of engineering, in a statement. “And that’s precisely what the flat and 5-degree angled sides of these enclosures accomplish. Combined with their 120-degree horizontal dispersion, the V5M and V5M-P provide unusually broad dispersion.”

The new WorxAudio TrueLine V5M carries MSRP pricing of $1,983, while the V5M-P is $2815. Both models are available now, according to the company.
