2011 Innovative Product: Furman CN1800S SmartSequencer

Two years ago, Furman started telling the pro AV world about power-management innovations the company was working on in the consumer space, built around a hosted remote power-management platform called BlueBolt, and inspired by the inevitability of the Smart Grid. Last month the CN1800S hit our space, a 1RU unit that combines AC power distribution, protection, filtration—and here’s the thing: sequential system power on/off. Hit one button on the box, or on your iOS or Telnet device, and whole systems safely shut off in sequence. Or have it remotely managed via BlueBolt and get usage feedback to boot.
