The NAD T 175 from NAD Electronics packs four HDMI version 1.3 inputs. The onscreen menu/display system is available on all video outputs, enabling a single-cable link between the preamp and the display.

Audyssey auto setup and calibration enables installers to balance and adjust a surround-sound loudspeaker system using supplied microphones. Audyssey MultEQ XT room correction reduces the impact of room acoustics to broaden the sweet spot for a larger audience. Other installer-friendly features include three additional zones with independent source and volume, an RS-232 connector and 12V trigger and IR connection tools.

The T 175 uses a 7.1-channel digital signal processor from Aureus that provides the full gamut of Dolby and DTS surround formats, and NAD adds its own EARS II digital surround mode to enhance the sound of 2-channel recordings. Burr-Brown 24/96 DACs are used in each of the eight channels. The RDS AM/FM tuner offers 40 presets and is XM-ready.

The unit also sports a universal portable media player input jack on the front panel.
