This video deck was built for mission-critical applications—mobile production, live concerts, sports events, houses of worship, studio, and mobile multi-cam production. Multiple PIX recorders can be grouped together over Ethernet for synchronized multi-unit, frame-accurate recording and playback of edit-ready Apple ProRes and Avid DNxHD video files. All of the grouped recorders function as a single system controlled through the PIX hardware interface, via RS4-22, or remotely via the PIXNet Web interface. Each PIX 270i offers 64 channels of MADI audio and 64 channels of Dante audio I/O for large-scale audio systems. It has redundancy built-in, including recording to four SSDs for immediate backups or longform recording and redundant 4-pin XLR power connections. In the event of a power loss, PowerSafe gives the PIX 270i the power reserve necessary to safely stop all file operations and properly shutdown. The FileSafe recovery utility means never having to worry about losing vital video or audio data.
